Hello and thanks for hitting the link : )

HEADS UP! COMMUNITY CHOIR
sings regularly on Wednesday evenings and welcomes adults who enjoy relaxed singing with the odd harmony in a friendly inclusive setting with no auditions and lots of fun. Currently meeting at The Wyvern Club 7pm to 8.30pm Wednesday evenings.

Our singing group offers a place to relax, just be yourself and sing some wonderful modern and traditional songs from the last thirty or forty years. Here's a few examples :

Lou Reed (Perfect Day)
Blur (Tender)
Elbow (One Day Like This)
Joni Mitchell (Both Sides Now)
Otis Redding (Dock of The Bay)
Summer Breeze (The Isley Brothers)
Bobby McFerrin (Don't Worry Be Happy)
Bob Marley (Three Little Birds)
John Denver (Country Roads)
Coldplay (Yellow)
Leonard Cohen (Hallelujah)

We also take on some more choral bits
and bobs, always just for fun :

Pie Jesu (Lloyd Webber)
Benedictus (Karl Jenkins)
Dona Nobis Pacem (Mozart)
Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod)
Nessun Dorma (Puccini)

No need to read music or anything like that but we do enjoy a bit of learning on the choral side of things from time to time but we don't pretend to be anything that we're not!
Our singing is from the heart, pop favourites, soul, rock, indie, plus some folk, classical, opera and world music too.

Once or twice in the summer we get together in the park - all very relaxed on a Wednesday evening if it's warm.

At Christmas we might wander into town of an evening and sing a few carols to raise a little money for charity.

Together since 2016, over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for local and national charities and sung at many local and regional events with other choirs.

If you would like to give us a try then just send me an email and I'll get straight back. There is also a facebook group that anyone can join to be kept up to date with things.

£6 a session unless money is tight in which case just pay what you can afford, all fine.

Look forward to hearing from you very soon. Thanks for reading this
