TUTORIAL NUMBER FOUR

 

Here are some rough ideas about what we would like to achieve in our first year together.

 

OUR MUSICAL SPACE

Using simple easily learned samba patterns and a wide range of instruments we will aim to produce a very musical sound without complexity at this early stage. This requires concentrating on the basics. Learning our parts, playing in time with others, engaging with our musical souls.

We aim to produce a 'tight' musical sound that 'cooks'. A magical space that we fall into and feel closely connected through the rhythms that we create together.

 

OUR SOCIAL SPACE

 

Community music projects are wrapped up with the idea of music as a vehicle for wellbeing. This means that the social and wellbeing goals of our project are as important, indeed more important, than our musical goals. We aim to offer a rich warm social space where all can feel welcome and can enjoy some beautiful music making, some learning and some relaxation fun and laughter without judgement. A place to be accepted just as we are and to let our hair down.
